
The Adel City Council will meet in regular session on Tuesday.
The council will have a first reading on an ordinance to provide that general property taxes levied and collected each year on certain properties located within the amended Southbridge Urban Renewal Area, the City of Adel, Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Community School District, Dallas County, and other taxing districts, be paid to a special fund for payment of principal and interest on loans. The council will look to take action to proceed to the second and possible third readings at their next meeting.
The council will also hold first readings on an ordinance to amend section 63 for special speed zones on U.S. Highway 169, and an ordinance to amend chapter 21 for the purpose of amending the qualifications and duties of the City Administrator.
Items on the agenda seeking approval include appointing Deputy City Administrator and Finance Director Brittany Sandquist as the Interim City Administrator, a publishing notice of intent to fill city council vacancy by appointment, a resolution to determine an area of Adel to be an Economic Development Area that is necessary in the interest of the public health for Urban Renewal projects, and a resolution to authorize execution of a fifth amendment to the agreement for private development with Cramer and Associates Incorporated.
Additional items up for approval feature a resolution for the Engagement Agreement with South Dallas County Sanitary Landfill Agency and PFM Financial Advisors LLC for an analysis on Enterprise Fund Revenue requirements, and a Memorandum of Understanding with Iowa and Cramer and Associates Incorporated regarding acceptance of Pond and Bridge ownership.
The meeting is open to the public and is happening at 6pm on Tuesday inside Adel City Hall, 301 South 10th Street.
