Just one regular season baseball game remains for the Greene County Rams, then it’s on to the first round of Class 3A Substate 1 at Lewis & Clark Stadium in Sioux City against fifth ranked Bishop Heelan of Sioux City.

Coach Kyle Stalder’s Rams have a record of 6-14 after starting 1-10. An increase in team batting average is one reason for the win total going up from 2024 when the Rams were 2-20, as well as the first half of this season. The team batting average is above .230, which is more than 30 points higher than just two weeks ago.

The Rams host Atlantic on July 7 at Allensworth Field in Jefferson for a JV/varsity doubleheader to end the regular season. The Trojans, from the Hawkeye 10 Conference, are 9-14 overall and 6-13 in conference play.

The Substate game in Sioux City will be broadcast on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com with coverage at 6:30 p.m. and first pitch at 7 o’clock.
