The regular season will be ending this week for Perry softball and baseball as first round playoff games will be later this week.
Softball postseason play gets underway on Thursday for the Jayettes. Perry will hit the road and face off with Boone. The two clubs just met this past Thursday in a non conference game. The Jayettes received the worse seed in their 4A Bracket Region 7. Boone earned the three seed. The two seed Storm Lake awaits the winner. North Polk Claimed the top seed in the region. They have a bye and will play the winner of Spencer and Ballard.
The Bluejays will have to hit the road on Friday for their playoff assignment. Perry travels to Ballard to take on the top seeded Bombers. The Substate 7 in 3A features a large chunk of the Raccoon River Conference. The second match up in the top half of the bracket will see North Polk host Bondurant-Farrar in the four vs five. Carlisle earned the second seed and will host the other non Raccoon River Conference member Nevada. The winner of that game will take on the winner of Gilbert and Winterset.
Both Perry clubs finish the regular season on Monday. The Jayettes host Pella while the Bluejays host Des Moines Christian.
