The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Baseball Team ignited a late rally on Monday at home against Carroll, but couldn’t quite get over the hump, falling 4-3.

The game was scoreless until the 4th inning, when Carroll pushed 1 run across, then followed it up with 2 more in the top of 5th to lead 3-0. However, ADM tallied 1 run in the bottom of the 5th inning, before Carroll added 1 in the top of the 7th to take a 4-1 advantage. In the bottom half of the final inning, senior Reed Ausdemore hit a fair ball deep to right field to bring in 2 more runs, but ADM couldn’t get any more traction, as they fell 4-3.

ADM’s 3 runs were captured by junior Auggie Young, junior Leyton Gerleman and senior Cade Fisher. The winning pitcher was Carroll sophomore Tallon Crandel, who went 4 innings, allowed 10 hits, 1 run, walked a batter, and got 2 strikeouts. The losing pitcher was ADM’s Jansen, who went 4.1 innings, allowing 4 hits, 3 runs, walked a batter, and struck out 3.

Carroll improves to 9-17 overall (1-13 inside the Raccoon River Conference), as they host Bondurant-Farrar tonight at 7pm and ADM falls to 9-21 on the season (3-13 RRC), traveling to Norwalk for a single game at 7pm tonight.
