On Monday, the Dallas Center-Grimes Mustangs celebrated senior night while playing host to the Iowa City West Trojans. Senior night would end in success, as the Mustangs would pick up a 9-0 shut out victory over the Trojans.

The DCG fans and softball team honored their seniors as this years softball team consists of three seniors: Jenna Morrison, Avery Short and Sophia Bauman. Bauman would shine against the Trojans, ending the night with three stolen basses and one RBI. Tessa Jones would get the starting nod for the Mustangs and pitch the entire shut out, achieving 10 strikeouts in five innings to defeat Iowa City West 9-0.

Mustang softball returns to action on Tuesday at Waukee Northwest High School where DCG looks to spoil the Wolves’ senior night. First pitch is scheduled for 7:30pm with coverage on KDLS beginning at 7.
