
Perry was one of several recipients to be given a grant from the Iowa Department of Education to benefit schooling services.
According to the Dept of Ed, Future Ready Perry was awarded a Sustaining Grant, which is part of the Local College and Career Access Networks (LCANS) for the 2025-26 academic year. This program is focused on increasing postsecondary enrollment of students at Perry High School and developing clear pathways towards high-demand careers.
The Iowa Dept of Education gave five communities approximately $258,000 total funds to the LCAN grants that works to address attainment gaps in partnerships with local colleges, schools, area education agencies, employers, plus community and faith-based groups.
The Iowa Dept of Ed confirms that since the first LCANs were formed in 2015, more than $4 million has been invested in 23 communities in Iowa to increase college and career attainment.
