Radar Map belongs to the National Weather Service

Heavy storms affected the Raccoon Valley Radio listening area early Tuesday morning.

According to the National Weather Service, a severe thunderstorm warning was issued at 11:59pm on Monday for Dallas County as the storm was located over Grimes. Raccoon Valley Radio’s Severe Weather Action Team went live around 12:10am on Tuesday, as both Adel and Dallas Center were included with 16 other communities that the thunderstorm went through. Minburn Fire Chief Dan Case reported there was pea to dime size hail southwest of the area. 

During the coverage, there was one Raccoon Valley Radio employee as well as Weatherology that shared updates. Raccoon Valley Radio’s Severe Weather Action Team provides live coverage of severe thunderstorms or tornado warnings for Dallas, Greene, and Guthrie counties until the storms move out of the coverage area or drop below severe levels.
