The regular season finale for the Greene County High School softball team is tonight in Creston vs. the Panthers, ranked number 13 in Class 4A. The Rams, a 3A program are 15-10 on the season, and Coach Tom Kennedy’s team starts Region 4 action this Thursday in Jefferson vs. Des Moines Christian.

The Panthers are a team that can really hit the ball with 48 homeruns and 79 doubles during their 29-6 season. Creston won the Hawkeye 10 Conference title going 20-0 and they played Chariton last night.

Greene County has had a big bounce back season after going 4-20 in 2024. In addition to the 15-10 overall record, the Rams finished fourth among the nine teams in the Heart of Iowa Activities Conference at 10-6.

Thursday’s Region 4 contest at 7 p.m. will be broadcast on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com with coverage just after 6:30 p.m.
