Anyone who would like to show a static exhibit at this year’s Greene County Fair can do so tomorrow.

Ann Frederick invites adults and youth that are 16 and younger to submit entries for the Open Class Art Hall at Clover Hall on the Greene County Fairgrounds tomorrow from 10am-7pm. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio judging will take place later that evening and conclude on Friday, with various ribbons and other awards given out. Among the categories for submissions includes textiles and fabrics, canned goods and oven products, arts and crafts, agricultural, floricultural, family history and genealogy, as well as any youth that are 16 and younger.

Frederick notes that a new division this year under the floricultural category is place setting. She encourages anyone who wants to set up a table with a sheet, cups, plates and other items, along with either dry or fresh flowers can participate, with an open theme this year.

Additionally, Frederick says people can vote for their favorite quilt blocks, as several will be on display during the fair, and the block that is selected as the People’s Choice will be made into a quilt for next year’s county fair. The votes include one perry is one vote, a nickel counts for five votes, a dime is ten votes and a quarter is 25 votes. She adds that there is also going to be a raffle for this year’s quilt that was made from last year’s People’s Choice quilt block. The raffle tickets are $1 for one ticket or six for $5. The raffle ends on Sunday at 3pm and the winner does not need to be there.
