The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Baseball Team is gearing up for a hopeful deep postseason run, as Head Coach Jason Book shares the process of the preparation.
The Tigers will be making a long road trip to Oskaloosa tomorrow to battle the Indians in the Class 3A Substate 8 First Round game, to start their journey to the state tournament. Book says that the boys are in practice working on fundamentals, but the main focus right now revolves around rest. He knows that ADM is going to get all they can handle from Oskaloosa, but sees some bright spots.
“They’re really good. I know they have a really good left-handed pitcher. They’re not a super high level, complete ball team, but they have a couple of good pitchers, and they field it and throw it pretty well. (They) don’t score a lot of runs, so that might be an advantage for us, and it’s just an opportunity for us to go compete one more time.”
The Tigers concluded the 2025 regular season at 9-22, representing the Raccoon River Conference, and the Indians are 16-12 overall, out of the Little Hawkeye Conference. The game will be played at Oskaloosa High School tomorrow evening at 7pm. Raccoon Valley Radio will carry the broadcast on K107.9 KKRF, starting around 6:45pm.
