The Dallas County Fair Queen Coronation is tomorrow, and the final candidate is another individual representing the Dallas Center-Grimes School District.
Kadence Brown is running for the first time, and says that she was inspired in large part by the current Dallas County Fair Queen, Courtney Wojtowicz as well as her FFA Advisor, who encouraged her to do so, even though she was reluctant initially. She is an avid reader of science fiction books and enjoys taking her dogs on walks along the trails at Ledges State Park.
Brown outlines that she is an advocate for agriculture, not only sharing her perspective, but is open to hearing other opinions as well. She reveals what it would mean to be named the 2025 Dallas County Fair Queen.
“I love to be a leader, I love to be a role model, I love hearing the fact that people look up to me and I want to keep being that for people. I feel like this role would put me in a really good place with that, and I also feel like I can bring pride and unity to Dallas County and other counties around.”
In her high school career at DCG, Brown was involved in varsity show choir, FFA, served as the boys basketball manager, and helped the speech team achieve a large group All-State award, while also helping in nursing homes and cleaning community gardens. The other queen candidates include Mya Southwick, Kelsey Greenslade, and Jenna Schlieman. The coronation is taking place tomorrow afternoon at 3pm at Center Stage at the Dallas County Fairgrounds in Adel.
