On Wednesday, the Dallas Center-Grimes Mustangs softball team traveled to Carlisle to face off against the Carlisle Wildcats. Both teams would refuse to quit, going into extra innings but Carlisle would come out ahead in the bottom of the ninth defeating DCG 6-5.

Kale Montag would be on the mound for the long haul for the Mustangs, pitching through 8.1 innings allowing eleven hits, six runs, and six strikeouts. Delany Fetters, Addie Abens, Genevieve York and Jaycee Jamison would all have RBIs against the Wildcats to take the game into extras.

With the regular season now over, the now 31-7 Mustangs prepare for regional quarterfinals action at home on Saturday. DCG will face off against the winner between Glenwood and Denison-Schleswig.
