
Senior Noah Kading manned the mound for the Chargers in their 6-4 loss to the Ogden Bulldogs. Kading struck out six batters, and only allowed two walks.
The AC/GC Chargers baseball team ended the season Tuesday, and finished with a 10-14 record.
The Chargers started off with losses to Coon Rapids-Bayard, and two against Des Moines Christian, before picking up a 4-0 win against Exira-EHK. The team then beat Ogden 13-6, and and continued the win streak by taking down Griswold 13-1 and West Central Valley 5-4 in a game that was finished later in the season. AC/GC then faced an 11-4 loss to Woodward-Granger, before picking up a 17-12 win against Madrid, and an 8-3 win over Glidden-Ralston.
The Chargers dropped two games to Interstate 35 in a doubleheader night, the first 13-2 and the second 12-2, then picked up a 9-8 win over Panorama. The team then faced a string of losses, dropping a game against Ogden 6-4, then two against Pleasantville with scores of 13-3 and 12-1, followed by a 9-4 loss to Woodward-Granger. AC/GC won against Panorama 8-0, then lost 7-4 to West Central Valley, and picked up an 8-4 win over Madrid.
Van Meter took two games from the Chargers, with scores of 13-1 and 12-2, and the regular season was over. In the postseason, the Chargers took down AHSTW with a 3-2 walk-off victory, then fell 5-3 against Woodbine. With a 6-12 conference record, the Chargers finished the season ranked 7th in conference.
