
On Wednesday, the West Central Valley Wildcat softball team traveled to Interstate 35 High School to face off against the Roadrunners in the second round of regional softball action. The Wildcats would battle, but would fall 10-2 against I-35 ending WCV’s regional championship run.
Grace Bleckwehl and Maleah Speichinger would come in to pitch for the Wildcats, with Bleckwehl starting for WCV pitching for 3.1 innings allowing five hits, two runs and had one strikeout. Speichinger would also have one strikeout in 2.1 innings, allowing six hits, and eight runs. Speichinger would have one RBI and would come in to score one, while Lili Gilbert would also have an RBI.
The Wildcat softball team ends their season at 16-13, after falling to the I-35 Roadrunners in the second round of regionals.
