Perry baseball hits the road today as they face off with Ballard in Slater.  KDLS will have the coverage at 12:50P as threat of rain pushed up the start time.

The first round of the 3A Substate 7 baseball postseason games take place today.  The Bluejays, who are 3-23, travel to take on the top seeded Bombers that are 25-8.  Ballard claimed second in the Raccoon River Conference while Perry finished ninth in the Heart of Iowa.  A loss now for either side ends their season and the winner advances to face the winner of North Polk and Bondurant-Farrar.

This match up had been a common one when these two shared the Raccoon River Conference, but this will be their first meeting since Perry left following the 2021 season.  The Bombers have been victorious in the last eight meetings.

Owen Myers and Geren Kenney will try to extend their final seasons tonight.  Both guys are hitting well over .400… .451 and .449  respectively.  Gabriel Beato has driven in a team high 19 runs while Mason Hays has brought in 17.  The Bluejays’ bats will be tested as Ballard has been dominate on the mound.
