
The Dallas County Fair is coming to a close, but there are still lots of activities to do today and tomorrow.
According to Iowa State University Extension Youth Coordinator Annie Schlieman, this afternoon includes the Poultry Show, and the second day of the Horse Show. She adds that the Figure 8 Races will close out the evening at 7pm, as the Parade of Champions during the intermission.
Dallas County Fair Director Ashley Zika tells Raccoon Valley Radio that the carnival is open from noon to 10pm, along with a Cribbage Tournament, a Firefighter Show, the Conservation Trailer with the Dallas County Farm Bureau, fireworks at 10pm, and live music by The Other Brothers from 9pm-midnight.
Schlieman says that tomorrow will feature that static and all animals will be released at 6am, and the premium auction will take place at noon, with the fair cleanup immediately afterwards. Raccoon Valley Radio’s Big Red Radio will be on site today from 10am-6pm. The Dallas County Fairgrounds are located at 28057 Fairground Road, in Adel.
