
Sixth ranked Bishop Heelan topped Greene County 14-1 in 4-1/2 innings by the 10 run rule on Friday night in Sioux City for the start of the Class 3A Substate 1 baseball. The Rams end the 2025 season with a 7-15 record while the Crusaders improved to 27-10. The game was played at Mercy one Field at Lewis and Clark Park, the home of the American Association Professional Baseball independent league’s Sioux City Explorers.
The Crusaders pounded out 13 hits in just times at bat while the Rams were held to three hits, all singles, from seniors Camden Jacobs, Noah Hinote, and Lane Fields. Jacobs led off the third inning with a single and he scored on a ground out by senior Isaac Carman.
Hinote took the pitching loss after going the first three innings. Senior Crew Conner pitched the fourth inning. Bishop Heelan scored four runs in the first inning, two in the second, three in the third, and five in the fourth.
The Rams have seven seniors on the team and all started on Friday night. They are Isaac Carman, Crew Conner, Lane Fields, Noah Hinote, Camden Jacobs, Nick Stream, and Gavyn Winters.
