The Greene County Historical Society is hosting its annual event where attendees are transformed back into a more formal time period.
Historical Society Co-Director Mike Piepel says a Victorian-style tea party is on Sunday, July 20th at 2pm at the Greene County Historical Museum in Jefferson. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio that Co-Director Dianne Piepel and as well as Mikki Schwarzkopf will present the museum collections of Victorian period apparel, along with Jacque Andrew showing her family’s napkin ring collection from that time period.
Mike points out how successful this program was last year.
“Oh we had a wonderful turnout. I think we had close to 70 people or so in attendance. And our attendance has grown dramatically over the last year. We’re putting on a number of different programs, a number of different types of programs.”
Additionally, there will be scones and clotted cream, petit fours and other formal tea delicacies. Mike adds that there are limited spots available for Sunday’s free program and so reservations are required by calling 515-386-4408.
