The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Softball Team was able to generate the offense on Saturday in Adel, as they defeated MOC-Floyd Valley 12-1 in 4 innings to advance to the Class 4A Region 4 Final on Tuesday.
The Tigers got going early by getting 2 runs in the bottom of the 1st inning to lead 2-0. ADM would follow it up by capturing 3 runs in the 2nd inning, 3 in the 3rd, and 4 more in the 4th inning to hit the 10-run rule, marking the final of 12-1.
Nearly every player for the Tigers scored, as they were led by senior Aniston Tollari was 2-2 notching 2 runs. Senior Kennedy Stanford, went 3-3, and tallied 1 run, while junior Ellis Smith was 2-3, scoring 2 runs. The other players that scored runs included Lauren Hagedorn, Madi James, Makenna Pitlick, Aubrey Noring, Peyton Herrick, Lauryn Troster and Karsyn Stanford. Getting the lone run for the Dutchmen was senior Aubrey DeShaw.
The winning pitcher was Pitlick, who went 3 innings, allowed 3 hits, 1 run, walked a batter, and captured 2 strikeouts. Hagedorn completed 1 inning, allowing a hit, and struck out a batter. The losing pitcher was MOC-Floyd Valley junior Alyson Leusink, who finished 4 innings giving up 9 hits, 12 runs, walked 7 batters, and got a strikeout.
The Dutchmen conclude their season at 21-7, while ADM improves to 26-8 on the year and will be hosting Sergeant Bluff-Luton in Adel on Tuesday at 7pm. Raccoon Valley Radio will carry the broadcast on K107.9 KKRF.
