The Adel Public Library is offering a program for youth gamers happening later this week.

According to Programming Specialist Lily Schwarz, the library is teaming up with Adel-DeSoto-Minburn High School’s E-Sports Coach Chris Hatchitt to educate younger individuals about electronic sports. She explains that the program is tailored towards youth from fourth to eighth grade, and will feature a specific Nintendo Switch sporting game, as participants will be split into groups of two to face off versus one another. 

Schwarz details that Hatchitt will allow the youth to battle each other, but will cover the basic concepts behind E-Sports. She mentions that individuals need to register beforehand, as the program is taking place on Thursday from 1-3pm. Schwarz adds that another session will happen on July 24th, featuring a different E-Sports game. Any questions can be directed to the Adel Public Library at (515)-993-3512.
