
The high school softball season for the Greene County Rams saw the win total jump from four in 2024 to 16 this season. Coach Tom Kennedy’s team was 16-12 overall, 10-6 in Heart of Iowa Activities Conference play, which was good for fourth place in the nine team league, and the Rams won their first round postseason game.
Nearly all the other numbers on offense were up over a year ago in addition to the win/loss record. The team batting average rose to .330 with 175 runs scored, five homeruns, seven triples, and 25 doubles. The Rams had a .391 on-base percentage and a slugging percentage of .402. Greene County was also successful in stolen bases with 77 steals in 84 attempts.
