The Perry softball season has come to a close. The Jayettes finished at 7-13-1. Karagyn Whelchel had a dominate year for Perry.
The junior led the club with a .455 average. She also smacked seven doubles while driving in nine runs. Defensively, Karagyn was the primary catcher and she did a tremendous job taking over the position full time this year with just two errors.
Her average places her as a top five hitter in the Heart of Iowa. The elder Whelchel is poised for another First Team All Conference designation in 2025. The HOIC team will be announced at the conclusion of the State Tournament next week.
The Jayettes loss in the Regional Quarterfinal to Boone 4-0 last week.
