Boys and girls in kindergarten through fourth grade in Jefferson and surrounding communities can participate in an athletic activity next week.
Jefferson Parks and Recreation Department Assistant Director Henry Pohlmeyer says the Summer Cheer Stunt and Tumbling Camp will be next Monday through Thursday from 4-5pm at the Greene County Community Center. He urges anyone who is interested to register as participants will learn about the basic skills of cheerleading, along with technique, terminology and safety for doing cheers and stunts. Pohlmeyer talks about the instructor for this program.
“We have (Greene County High School Head Cheerleader Coach) Deb Wolterman, I know she has taught several programs of this in the past. So she’s doing it again and she does a good job with it.”
The cost to be part of the class is $30 for community center members and $35 for non-members, and the deadline to register is this Friday. Contact the community center at 515-386-3412 or click here to sign up.
