The Perry Chamber of Commerce is gearing up for a fun summer event happening on Friday.Director Lynsi Pasutti illustrates that the Annual 2nd Street Block Party will be taking place in downtown Perry from 5-10pm. She highlights that Encore Legends will be the band headliner this year as there will be a beer garden, and is an opportunity to spend a summer evening in the area. Pasutti cautions people that 2nd Street between Warford Street and Lucinda Street will be closed off for the event. She enjoys seeing residents and guests out at these large venues, but she points out a special feature about the 2nd Street Block Party that separates itself from the rest.

“We have started developing a little tradition with some of the reunions, and so the last couple of years, the 50-year reunion has based their festivities around the block party. So I know this year’s 50-year is planning a sub-event within the event, and so it’s just really fun that we don’t have another event that really attracts that kind of activity. So this is something that we’re slowly growing and building that.”

Pasutti says the 2nd Street Block Party is not only available to groups that are reuniting, but open to anyone over the age of 21. She adds that it will cost $5 to enter the event, as it will be happening from 5-10pm on Friday.
