The Stuart People Active for Library Service (PALS) are preparing for a community favorite event.

Members Carol Brewer and Kathy Johnson say that the third annual Dessert Bar Crawl will be on July 26th. Brewer tells Raccoon Valley Radio that bakers will be able to compete for bragging rights, and shares that they are looking for at least 10 bakers.

“Do you have the best dessert bars that you can bake? If you do, come put them on the list that’s at the library. Sign up.”

Johnson mentions that they are doing things a little differently this year.

“We’re not having categories this year, which is a little different, but we are giving four places.”

Bakers will be able to come in at 9am on July 26th, handing their bars off to PALS members who will cut them all into equally sized pieces. At 10am, the public will be able to taste test the bars until 11. Bakers and tasters will each receive one ticket when they enter, and will be able to use that ticket to vote for their favorite bar. Tickets will also be available for 25 cents, or five for $1, so that you can vote more than once. Once judging is over, individuals can purchase a plate of sweet treats for $5, and pick which bars they want to take home.
