The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Softball Team had their offense come alive, tallying four home runs at home versus Sergeant Bluff-Luton on Tuesday in the Class 4A Region 4 Final as they won 12-1 in 5 innings, and will be making their fifth consecutive state tournament appearance.

The Warriors traveled approximately two and a half hours to Adel to play in the regional championship for the first time since the 2021-22 season. Sergeant Bluff-Luton (SBL) junior Bailey Moreau gave the Warriors life early with a solo home run in the top of the 1st inning to give SBL a 1-0 lead.

The Tigers stranded freshman Elliotte Von Roden on 3rd base in the bottom half of the 1st inning, but would score runs in the four innings that followed. Freshman Aubrey Noring gave ADM the lead with junior Lauryn Troster standing on 2nd base, Noring blasted a 2-run homer out to left field as the Tigers took the 2-1 advantage.

Senior Madi James hit a 3-run homer in the 3rd inning to extend the lead 5-1. Two more runs crossed the plate in the 4th inning, including a solo home run from Noring to give her two on the night. Then in the 5th inning, ADM scored 5 runs, with junior Lauren Hagedorn ending the game on a grand slam to get 4 runs in as the Tigers won 12-1 in 5 innings.

Noring, who went 2-2 in the game, and led the way with 3 runs scored, knew she needed to find a way to come through for her team.

“I knew this was a big game, and I know that I have a spot and so I need to fill it. And just going up the plate, there’s nerves but I also felt confident because I’ve earned my spot. I mean I didn’t try to hit that, I just let my bat and my swing do the work, and it paid off tonight.”

Besides Noring, James, and Hagedorn, the other Tiger players that marked runs featured Von Roden with 2, Ellis Smith had 2, then 1 run each for Aniston Tollari, Peyton Herrick, and Lauryn Troster.

The losing pitcher was Warriors senior Brooklyn Ocker, who went 3.1 innings, allowing 5 hits, 6 runs, and walked 2 batters. Senior Emma Crooks finished with 2.2 innings, allowing a hit, 6 runs, and walked 2 batters.

The winning pitcher was sophomore Makenna Pitlick, going 2 innings, allowed 2 hits, and struck out 2 batters. Hagedorn completed 3 innings, walked a batter, and captured 6 strikeouts.

Sergeant Bluff-Luton concluded the 2025 season at 33-7, as ADM improves to 27-8 and is traveling to Fort Dodge for the fifth year in a row at the state tournament. The Tigers will be playing the Mustangs of Dallas Center-Grimes High School this coming Monday at 10:30am on the Iowa Central Field at the Harlan Sports Complex in Fort Dodge. Raccoon Valley Radio will be carrying the broadcast on K107.9 KKRF.
