
With the summer ball season finished for the AC/GC Chargers, we look back at how the players did.
For the softball team, senior Jayla Hoover started all 23 of the team’s games, going to bat 50 times for six runs, seven hits which were all singles and four sacrifice bunts. She was walked eight times, hit by pitch twice, reached on error twice and struck out 14 times for seven total bases, a .140 batting average, .283 on base percentage and .140 slugging percentage.
Hoover was unsuccessful on her sole stolen base attempt, but recorded 12 assists, 36 put outs and five errors for 53 total chances, and a .906 fielding percentage. From the mound, she pitched 44.1 innings, throwing 789 times to 245 opposing batters for an opponent batting average of .400. She allowed 98 hits, 87 runs, of which 61 were earned, walked 27 batters, hit nine, and struck out six for an ERA of 9.63 and walks and hits per inning pitched of 2.82.
For the baseball team, senior Jackson Pfrang started all 24 of the team’s games, stepping up to the plate 66 times for 13 runs and 13 hits, of which 11 were singles, one was a double, and one was a home run, the only one of the season for the Chargers. He had 16 RBIs, one sacrifice bunt, was walked 10 times, hit by pitch once, reached on error once and was struck out 24 times for 17 total bases, and a .197 batting average, .312 on base percentage and .258 slugging percentage.
Pfrang was successful on all four stolen base attempts, had four assists, 18 put outs and two errors for 24 total chances, and a .917 fielding percentage. From the mound, he pitched in 3.1 innings, throwing 94 times to 16 opponents, for an opposing batting average of .375. Pfrang allowed six hits, four runs which were all earned, walked six batters, hit one, and struck out six for an 8.40 ERA and 3.60 walks and hits per inning pitched.
