Freshman Paisley Heidgerken makes school history on the Dallas Center-Grimes Mustangs softball team as she has officially surpassed the single season record for stolen basses. The record was set in 1977 as Cindy Ware would successfully steal 42 bases in a single season.

In the regional championship game against the Creston Panthers, Heidgerken would enter the contest with 41 stolen bases, just one away from tying the record. In an incredible fashion, Paisley would accomplish two stolen bases against the Panthers, tying then breaking the school record as Heidgerken currently sits at 43 stolen bases so far this season.

Heidgerken still has two more opportunities next week to increase her record as Dallas Center-Grimes returns to the state tournament in Fort Dodge on Monday. The Mustangs face off against the ADM Tigers with first pitch scheduled at 10:30am. Coverage will begin on KDLS at 10:15.
