Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Baseball sophomore Alex Jensen stepped up in a big way at the plate in the 2025 season.
Jensen was the leader in three offensive categories for the Tigers, stepping up for 112 At-Bats, racking off 37 hits, and scoring 25 runs. He reached first base 30 times, had five doubles, one triple, and managed to hit a single home run, while capturing 11 RBIs. Jensen showed his speed on the bags accumulating a team-high of 31 stolen bases.
In the outfield, Jensen marked 33 assists and 48 putouts, as he appeared in all 32 games for ADM. He pitched in 18.2 innings this season, concluding with a 1-0 record, allowed 17 hits, 10 runs, and struck out 8 batters. Tiger Head Coach Jason Book is anticipating the younger talent returning next year.
“One of the things we have to remind ourselves during the season was that we are a young team, and sometimes you lose sight of that because they’re so talented, you don’t understand that they haven’t played as many games yet and they just don’t have baseball maturity that you wished that they had or that you think they might have. We have a great group of young guys coming up (who are) very athletic. We just have to get them more games and get them on the field.”
ADM finished 9-23 losing to Oskaloosa in the Iowa High School Athletic Association Class 3A Substate 8 First Round game this past Friday.
