Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Softball Head Coach Lindsay Stanford is appreciative for the outpouring support from family and friends.
Stanford tells Raccoon Valley Radio that Tiger fans are amongst the best in the state of Iowa because they not only pack home games, but are heavily present at away games as well. She mentions that at this point in the season, the team becomes closer as there is more time for practice and team-bonding activities.
ADM was given the number one seed for the Class 4A Region 4 division, hosting both MOC-Floyd Valley and Sergeant Bluff-Luton, winning both games to clinch their fifth straight state tournament berth. Stanford comments that she loved to look in the outfield and see so many fans occupying the ballpark.
“Definitely that home-field advantage is always great. The atmosphere that the community brings when we are in tournament play is just like no other really.”
As the Tigers gear up for the first round game against Dallas Center-Grimes on Monday for state, Stanford details that the approach won’t be any different, working on in-game situations at practice leading up to the matchup. ADM will be playing on the Iowa Central Field at the Harlan Sports Complex at 10:30am. Raccoon Valley Radio will carry the broadcast on K107.9 KKRF.
