
With the summer ball season finished for the AC/GC Chargers, we look back at how the players did.
For the softball team, junior Karli Kautzky started all 23 of the team’s games, going to bat 65 times for six runs, 19 singles and one double for 20 hits, with five RBIs. She was walked three times, hit by pitch once and struck out eight times for 21 total bases, and a .308 batting average, .348 on base percentage and .323 slugging percentage. Kautzky was successful on all five stolen base attempts, had 45 assists, 16 put outs and seven errors for 68 total chances and an .897 fielding percentage.
For the baseball team, senior Payton Policky started in 15 of the 19 games he played, stepping to the plate 37 times for six runs, nine singles and one double for 10 hits, and five RBIs. He was walked six times, hit by pitch twice, reached on error twice, and was struck out 13 times for 11 total bases, a .270 batting average, .400 on base percentage and .297 slugging percentage.
Policky had 21 assists, 16 put outs and 11 errors for 48 total chances and a fielding percentage of .771. From the mound he pitched 9.2 innings, throwing 179 times to 34 batters for an opposing batting average of .235. Policky allowed eight hits, 9 runs which were all earned, walked 11 batters, hit two, allowed three sacrifice plays and struck out eight batters for a 6.52 ERA and 1.97 walks and hits per inning pitched.
