The end of the high school sports year concluded last week for the Greene County Rams with the end of the high school softball and baseball seasons.

The Rams had various levels of success from its teams and individuals in 2024-2025 with one individual State Champion in senior Brent Dennhardt He won the 157 lbs. Class 2A wrestling title at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines in February. The State title was his first in high school and he became a two-time State place winner for the Rams on the mat.

There were other State place winners and qualifiers in individual sports for the Rams in 2024-25, but Dennhardt was the lone State Champion.

The week of July 29 is Family Week in Iowa high schools, meaning no use of school facilities and no contact athletically between coaches and athletes. Schools may hold Fall sports Camps the week of Aug. 6, which Greene County will do for football and volleyball. Official Fall practices in the state for the sports Greene County fields will begin on Monday, Aug. 13.
