The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Softball Team will be playing in their fifth straight state tournament, starting Monday as freshman Aubrey Noring is going to soak it all in.

In the Class 4A regional round, the Tigers defeated MOC-Floyd Valley 11-1 in the semifinals on July 12th, then was able to race past Sergeant Bluff-Luton 12-1 in the final this past Tuesday. During the regional final, Noring had a huge game, going 2-2 with two home runs to catapult ADM back to the state tournament.

However, they had to erase a one-run deficit, after Warrior junior Bailey Moreau hit a solo home run to put SBL up 1-0. Noring says that Head Coach Lindsay Stanford always preaches to control the controllable, and not get caught up in the other things. She went to the state tournament last year as an eighth grader, but is much closer with the team now.

“The team environment has been phenomenal just these past two games. And I’m excited to see what that looks like in state, because I know that it’s going to be just even greater.”

The Tigers made the Class 4A Championship game last year, losing 7-6 to Carlisle, and are seeking to get back there this year. ADM will play Dallas Center-Grimes on Monday at 10:30am on the Iowa Central Field at the Harlan Sports Complex in Fort Dodge. Raccoon Valley Radio will have the broadcast on K107.9 KKRF.
