Greene County Activities Director Dave Wright talked with Raccoon Valley Radio about the progress made this Summer by the Rams in baseball and softball. Greene County had just six wins combined by the two teams in 2024, but this year the softball Rams were 16-12 and the baseball Rams went 7-15.

The A.D. said he believed the softball Rams would be better with virtually the entire team back from a season ago, but two injured starters returned after they missed all of 2024. Coach Tom Kennedy saw just three of this season’s players graduate from high school.

Coach Kyle Stalder’s baseball Rams won seven games after getting just two victories a season ago. The Rams graduated seven seniors, so there will be openings on the baseball diamond in 2026.

The Rams are members of the Heart of Iowa Activities Conference, which is represented at the State Tournaments this week. PCM is in the 3A portion of the State Softball Tournament in Ft. Dodge while Saydel (Des Moines) plays in the 3A State Baseball Tournament in Sioux City.
