The leader of the Adel-DeSoto-Minburn School District shares ways he is gearing up for the new school year.

Superintendent Greg Dufoe tells Raccoon Valley Radio that July is a quieter month for the school board and allows them to shift their attention to the fall season. He notes the board is getting ready for the pre-service days consisting of the meetings and the professional development days that are held leading up to the first day of school.

Dufoe says he’s also busy registering families for school and setting up bus transportation for those who need it. He mentions that it’s not only the school board that’s preparing things, but multiple departments.

“Our custodial and building and grounds crews (are) readying the building, they have a massive cleaning process that takes place every summer. Technology, they’re working very hard to get new devices and issue them.”

Dufoe clarifies that teachers will return to the school on August 14th, as the first day of school will be on August 25th.
