The southeastern portion of Dallas County was subjected to severe weather conditions on Tuesday evening.

The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning in Dallas County at 7:10pm after a storm was located six miles north of Winterset. A few of the cities that were impacted included Adel, Earlham, and DeSoto. Raccoon Valley Radio’s Severe Weather Action Team went live on air at approximately 7:20pm as the storm moved north, where at 7:39pm a severe thunderstorm was spotted five miles southeast of Adel, moving northeast at 15 miles per hour. The National Weather Service expired the severe thunderstorm warning at 7:57pm.

There were two members from the Raccoon Valley Radio Severe Weather Action Team, along with Weatherology that assisted during the coverage. Raccoon Valley Radio’s Severe Weather Action Team provides live coverage of severe thunderstorm or tornado warnings for Dallas, Guthrie, and Greene counties until the storm moves out of the coverage area or drops below severe levels.
