2025 Greene County High School graduate Kamden Kinne called the week he spent as a Shrine Bowl football player one of the top experiences of his young life. The son of Kyle and Amanda Kinne of Jefferson was an offensive lineman for the South team in the annual North vs. South battle on Saturday inside the UNI-Dome in Cedar Falls. The South won 16-13 on a late field goal to stop a four game losing streak in the series.

Kinne was grateful for the opportunity play football one last time before he goes off to be a student at Iowa State University, but topping his list was time spent with some of the children the Shrine Hospitals and Clinics served. Some time between Shriner’s kids and the All-Star football players was spent inside the UNI-Dome playing a variety of games.

In addition to practices, there were trips to a water park, meals together, and a Friday night banquet with players, their families, and Shriners. A Shrine Bowl parade was held in Cedar Falls on Saturday morning.
