The Dallas County Board of Supervisors met in regular session on Tuesday.
The board held a workshop for the Dallas County Comprehensive Land Use, Zoning, and Building Code. Supervisor Chair Kim Chapman commented that he is in favor of creating a comprehensive plan with vision goals for land use and zoning. Supervisor Brad Golightly said an area he is passionate about is being able to promote agricultural business development in the county, while supervisor Julia Helm emphasized that her focus is to collaborate with public municipalities. The board decided that they’re going to continue to discuss and make necessary revisions.
Items on the agenda that were approved included for Farnworths Group to begin the bidding process for left and right deceleration lanes for the evidence storage building and firing range, and then have Turner Construction make four heat pump replacements and a second floor security film on the courthouse in the amount of $191,175.
The board tabled a few items, which were a shredding services contract and a capabilities quote to potentially record future meetings, as they wanted to have more conversations before proceeding. The board ended the supervisors meeting and entered into a drainage district trustees meeting.
