Greene County graduated three seniors from the 2025 softball team that won 16 games and lost 12. Head coach Tom Kennedy gives much of the credit for the 12 game improvement from the 4-20 team of 2024 to those seniors.

Chanlyn Cunningham, Payton Kokenge, and Violet Reedy were the trio of seniors. That means a number of players with varsity experience will be eligible to return in 2026. The Rams were 10-6 in the Heart of Iowa Activities Conference and placed fourth among the nine conference teams.

HOIAC Champion PCM (Monroe) is still playing. The Mustangs scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to edge West Liberty in the Class 3A State Tournament quarterfinals at Ft. Dodge and have advanced to the semifinals.
