The City of Adel will be paving several roads in town tomorrow, with work expected to last until early next week.

According to Public Works Director Kip Overton, In Roads Asphalt Company, out of Des Moines, will provide an asphalt overlay along Greenwood Hills Drive and South 11th Street to improve the road. 

“It’s starting to peel up in spots and things like that. We’ve got a company and mill out the old asphalt and put some new (asphalt) down.”

Overton mentions that the road was previously overlaid approximately 10 years ago. He confirms that people will need to take alternate routes as parts of Greenwood Hills and South 11th Street will be closed off during the overlay. Overton notes that the overlay project will begin tomorrow and is scheduled to last until Tuesday, weather permitting.
