Adair – Casey / Guthrie Center Superintendent Josh Rasmussen had several topics that he covered with the AC/GC School Boards in their recent meeting.

Rasmussen says that one of the big things that was covered was the need to fill the principal position at the high school. According to a special meeting agenda, AC/GC Strength and Conditioning Coach Cody Matthewson may be the one filing the position in the interim, until a full-time principal can be found. Rasmussen tells Raccoon Valley Radio about some of the projects and preparations for the school year to get started.

“We are continuing to clean the floors and change filters and really make our buildings look nice. So our custodial crews and all of our buildings are doing a really good job getting ready for the start of the school year. We did have a couple of storms where we had some cleanup around the schools. We didn’t receive any major damage, but definitely had some branches down. And of course, those branches either fall on a fence or might dent something up. So we have a few things to clean up, but no major damage there.”

Rasmussen mentions that the roof project at the AC campus has been going smoothly, and that it should be finished within the next couple of weeks. He adds that some air conditioning units are being installed at the high school, and that several students made the Dean’s or President’s Lists for Des Moines Area Community College in dual credit classes.
