The Dallas County Conservation Board will be inviting a special guest to their facility in Perry on Sunday for a program about the county’s history.
According to Museum Curator Pete Malmberg, the conservation board is holding a Mary Briggs Diary lecture at the Forest Park Museum, 14581 K Avenue, in Perry. He highlights that the program will feature Mary Briggs’ great granddaughter Sue Burns, who will read excerpts from her self-written diary during the time period of the 19th and 20th century.
Malmberg notes that Briggs was an early Dallas County pioneer and people will be able to learn about her legacy. He states that Burns will give the speech at 1:30pm on Sunday and that it will be free for anyone to come.
