The Dallas Center Volunteer Fire Department is gearing up for its first-ever fundraiser dinner tonight.
According to Fire Chief Daniel Howell, a free-will offering will be taken, with the money being used to buy extra fire equipment, such as gear, tools, and a hose. He explains that with the department filled with volunteers, there are approximately 28 to 30 individuals that have donated their time over the past year. He says the meal will consist of hamburgers, brats, hot dogs, chips, and dessert. Howell indicates the fundraiser will take place at the Dallas Center Fire Station, 1502 Walnut Street, tonight from 5-7pm.
