The Dallas County Conservation Board is welcoming a special guest tomorrow to highlight an Iowa historical figure.

Museum Curator Pete Malmberg tells Raccoon Valley Radio that there will be a Mary Briggs Diary lecture at the Forest Park Museum, 14581 K Avenue, in Perry. He mentions that Briggs’ granddaughter Sue Burns will read excerpts from her self-written diary over the time period of the 19th and 20th century. Malmberg details that Briggs was an early Dallas County pioneer and the lecture will teach people about her legacy. He describes that Burns will deliver the speech at 1:30pm tomorrow and that anyone is available to join for free.
