Everyone is invited to the Rippey Fun Day that is happening today.

Coordinator Chelsi Lawrence says after the morning parade, there will be vendors and food trucks, along with yard games, a petting zoo, face painting, a bounce house and People for Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) of Greene County will be on hand with animals to be adopted, all starting at noon. She talks about why they wanted to include PAWS with their event this year.

“Yeah I was just sitting and racking my brain on different things to make us unique and want people to come, and we’re animal lovers in my family, so I reached out to them and I was super  surprised that they were interested. And yeah, I hope that they get a good turnout.”

Then in the afternoon there is a car, tractor, semi and motorcycle show, as well as a separate truck show, with entry fees of $15 for the truck show and $20 for the other vehicle show all from 1-4pm. Several tournaments are also in the afternoon with a bags tournament at 2pm with a $40 charge, followed by 3-on-3 basketball at 5:30pm with a $30 fee and a pickleball tournament at 6pm with a $25 entry fee.

The evening includes a meal at the First United Methodist Church from 4:30-6:30pm, followed by fireworks to close out the overall event at dusk. Everything is close to and at Walt Anderson Field on the west side of town.
