Perry baseball fell in the opening round of postseason play to Ballard 16-1.  During the regular season, the Bluejays met two teams that went on long runs in the State Tournament.  Martensdale-St Mary’s was one of the top teams in 1A all season and Saydel finished tied for the top in the Heart of Iowa Conference.

Perry struggled against both teams when they met.  The Blue Devils swept a doubleheader 14-4 and 5-2.  The Eagles out slugged Perry in a double header 13-2 and 12-4.

Martensdale-St Mary’s spent the week competing in Carroll at Merchants Park for a 1A title, where they took second place.  Saydel competed in 3A in Sioux City at Lewis and Clark Park.  The Blue Devils competed for a State Title on Friday while Saydel was eliminated in the semifinals.

The Bluejays finished the year 3-24.
