Today begins a week of no workouts for all coaches and athletes around the state. This yearly event has been coined “Family Week”. First introduced in the 2020-2021 school year, it is a full week of non-contact period for all Iowa Unified Activity Federation (IGHSAU, IHSMA, IHSSA, IHSAA) activities.
Perry AD, Tina Lutterman, is a big fan of the mandatory rest.
“I really feel like it is well deserved. We ask a lot of our students and we have asked a lot of our coaches and with this summer adding in the PSP we’ve had great participation from students and coaches.”
This off week feels like the calm before the storm. Starting on August 11, Perry will begin football, volleyball, cross country, and swimming practice.
