Next week is an end of summer celebration for the Stuart community with the Stuart Police Department.

Stuart Police Sergeant Katie Guisinger says that they will be taking part in National Night Out on August 5th, a national program to help promote relationships between communities and their police departments. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio more about what National Night Out is.

“National Night Out is a nationwide event. If a department chooses to participate, it’s really up to those departments of what they want National Night Out to be. Some make it with vendors and things for sale and their kind of activities, or some are just local grill outs in larger cities in their little neighborhoods. With our size of community and the space we have, we’ve always kind of turned it into community give back.”

Guisinger mentions that National Night Out activities in Stuart will be from 5-8pm, at no cost to the public. She adds that activities will include a grill out, bounce houses, face painting, tours of emergency services vehicles, a donut eating contest, raffle prizes and a surprise treat from The Cup on 2nd.The donut eating contest begins at 6pm, and the raffle will start at 7pm.
