With the summer winding down, the Brenton Arboretum in Dallas Center is hosting an event revolving around crafts on Sunday.
Executive Director Melissa Burdick tells Raccoon Valley Radio that the 2nd Annual Market on the Prairie is happening and offers a chance to join local vendors to shop for a variety of products, plants, and foods. She details that the event caters to people who are passionate about the prairie.
“Market on the Prairie is intended for craftspeople in Iowa, who use local products or build things that are really in tune with the local prairie, or culture in Iowa. so we’ll have some plant vendors selling native plants, we have woodworkers working with Iowa native wood, and a handful of other vendors like that.”
Burdick describes that the organization is looking for vendors to help out with the event and asks anyone interested to contact the arboretum at (515)-992-4211. The Market on the Prairie is taking place Sunday from noon to 3pm at the Brenton Arboretum, 25141 260th Street, in Dallas Center.
