The USA Track & Field Championships start tomorrow in Eugene, OR at historic Hayward Field and run through Aug. 3. World team berths and other honors are at stake and Jefferson’s Carter Morton will compete tomorrow and Friday in the 10 event decathlon. The first team NCAA All-American for the U. of Northern Iowa Panthers indoors in the heptathlon (seven events) takes his talents outdoors against the best the United States has to offer.

Check local TV listings and streaming options to watch the decathlon beginning at 12:30 p.m. Iowa time on Thursday. Tomorrow’s events in order are the 100 meter dash, long jump, shot put, high jump, and 400 meter dash. Five more events will be contested on Friday.

Morton is the son of Chad and Deb Morton of Jefferson and he’s a 2020 Greene County High School graduate.
